Langtons Hotel has won many awards in many different areas of hospitality and it is with a proud family tradition that this third-generation family run hotel operates within medieval Kilkenny.
Having begun the tradition in 1938 Ned & Bridie Langton ran a public house. The ‘original’ premises was a home from home for many, the boarding house above the pub was always busy and many a person began their stay in Kilkenny as a guest of Ned & Bridie. The family tradition of a warm welcome into comfortable surroundings and a delicious and hearty meal began.
Through the passing of time but without compromising the core values Langtons Hotel has risen to become a four-star hotel where luxury, sophistication and glamour sit comfortably alongside good fun, indulgence and a feeling of welcome.
Our location allows our guests ease of access to the beautiful river walks, Kilkenny Castle, Rothe House, St Canice’s Cathedral, Medieval Mile Museum and all the beautiful boutiques and high street shops both in Kilkenny City Centre and at McDonagh Shopping Centre.

The Langton Ballroom
The Langton Ballroom, which was recently refurbished, is a spectacular room, boasting 20ft ceilings, ornate cornicing and hand painted silk wallpaper. This room is the delight of any Bride and Groom. Bridies Bar & General Store
The latest venture by the Langton family and a perfect addition to any Wedding arrival reception in Set Theatre or for ‘day after get-together’. A stunning take on an old world bar and general store. Take a walk into the general store and pick up some old world items before you stroll through the saloon doors into the bar itself. In the bar you will be greeted by a beautiful tiled floor, superb wood panelled walls, pewter and marble counters.
