Before any of this existed, Justin spent years performing with a busy wedding band, seeing up close what couples love, what stresses them out, and what makes a night unforgettable. That led to the creation of Partybands.ie and a growing network of amazing musicians, bands and DJs across the country. While he handled the stage and the logistics, Katriona was the calm force behind the scenes, keeping everything organised and slowly becoming a key part of the operation. What started as background support naturally turned into full partnership as the business grew.

Wedfest began as a small, relaxed showcase within Partybands where couples could see the entertainment live rather than scroll endlessly online. It was a simple idea, but it resonated. After one particularly tiny and painfully quiet wedding fair, we realised couples deserved something far more exciting. That moment changed everything. Having previously showcased at the Munster Wedding Show, Justin reached out to the organiser only to find it wasn’t happening again. Instead of waiting for someone else to fill the gap, we decided to build something ourselves. Wedfest grew from those small early events into the full-scale, festival-style wedding experience it is today, featuring over 100 trusted suppliers, incredible live performers, ceremony singers, musicians, a world-class fashion show and a fun, welcoming atmosphere where couples can actually enjoy planning.

The success of Wedfest naturally led to Weddings.ie. After seeing how valuable it was for couples to chat with suppliers in person, compare ideas and get real advice, we knew there needed to be a modern online platform that offered the same level of clarity and connection. Weddings.ie allows couples to create a free profile, find and save their favourite venues and suppliers, message businesses directly, join private chat groups, chat live with suppliers through built-in web chat features and pick up tips, inspiration and advice along the way. It blends online planning with real-life experiences so couples feel supported from start to finish.
